The effectiveness of the therapist and his practice depends, among other factors, his training. Studying and reading the main books of the approach is very important and gives the basis for the therapist to fill his “toolbox”. However, you need to know how to use these tools, and this is only possible when the practice combines with theory. Thinking about this necessity, the core Cefi Contextus has elaborated a course that aims to teach and experience the practice of the main concepts of acceptance and commitment therapy.
There will be 6 meetings that propose to put the contextual behavioral processes of acceptance and change in practice through rolys and exercise in small groups. The student can practice the main concepts of ACT, learning from case formulation, undergoing functional analysis, intervention tools (such as matrix), to the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
General Objective: The professional or student who completes the course will be able to formulate and intervene based on acceptance and commitment therapy, using the tools needed to enhance the therapeutic process.
Specific Objectives:
Use functional analyzes in session to comprehend ACT therapeutic processes and establishment of objectives;
Formulate cases according to an integrative methodology of conceptualization in contextual behavioral science;
Know and understand the matrix as a clinical intervention tool;
Use language processes as a behavior analysis tool and clinical intervention through Relational Frame Theory (RFT);
Understand how to use values clarification processes and commitment actions to achieve therapeutic objectives and increase vitality;
