History

CEFI - Center for Family and Individual Studies was founded in 1989, pioneering the development of Family and Couple Therapy in Porto Alegre. The professionals were trained by international specialists who brought the Systemic Therapy techniques - a brief and focal therapy for individuals, couples and families. CEFI has developed from being just a place of education to a specialized clinical area and research center in various areas of psychotherapy. Thanks to this, its main course has Triple Certification by MEC, Federal Council of Psychology and Brazilian Association of Family Therapy. CEFI's mission is the constant pursuit of innovation for technical training of professionals for therapeutic practice in an environment with the appropriate technology for qualification.

The center offers specialization, improvement and extension courses for professionals from various fields. From 1993 until today more than 100 classes have been formed. These are dynamic and interactive classes that aim to develop beyond the theoretical knowledge, skills, techniques and personal work of the therapist. Part of these courses is itinerant and takes place in cities in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso.
