Loss and Grief Specialization: Process and Interventions

Death, grief and different forms of loss are part of the human experience and are present in practically all health care contexts. However, many professionals still feel insecure about evaluating, accepting and intervening in the face of these experiences.

The Loss and Grief: Process and Interventions specialization course was developed to train professionals capable of understanding grief in its biopsychosocial, cultural and relational complexity, offering solid and up-to-date training.

Aimed at psychologists and doctors, the course integrates theoretical knowledge, development of clinical skills and practical experiences, preparing students to work in different service and care contexts.

Throughout the specialization, relevant topics regarding loss and mourning will be explored in depth and one of the great differences of the training is the integration between science and clinical practice. In addition to theoretical subjects, students participate in supervised practice, discuss clinical cases and develop skills to carry out assessment, therapeutic planning and interventions.

Another highlight is the care for those who care. The specialization contemplates the development of the therapist's self, recognizing that working with loss and suffering requires not only technical knowledge, but also self-awareness, ethical reflection and the construction of personal resources for sustainable clinical practice.

The faculty brings together nationally and internationally renowned professors, providing contact with different theoretical perspectives, current research and excellent clinical experiences. This diversity expands students' training and brings Brazilian practice closer to the most relevant discussions on the international scene.

Thinking about the reality of working professionals, the course has a hybrid format, combining face-to-face and online modules. Classes take place once a month, on Fridays and Saturdays, favoring the balance between training, work and personal life without compromising the quality of the learning experience.
