Skill training for people with excessive / overcontrolled control

People with lack of control are notoriously more frequent in mental health services. However, people with over -control are more numerous, suffer intensely and in silence, and therefore also need help. Excessive control is associated with serious mental health problems such as isolation, depression and suicide. This course aims to train skills related to social connection, psychological flexibility and full attention, to help live a life that is worth shared.

Excessive control is associated with poor quality of life via social isolation, worse interpersonal functioning and serious and difficult to treat psychopathological staff. However, they are less identified and researched than that population with emotional deregulation, despite their significant prevalence.

This population is transversely defined by four deficits: low receptivity and openness; Low control flexibility; Inhibited emotional expression and low emotional perception; and low social connectivity and intimacy.

This training aims to broaden specific skills and capabilities for these deficits, increasing opening, flexibility of control, enabling congruent emotional expression, educating and training emotional perception, enabling greater social connection and facilitating intimacy relationships.
